Twin RT

Friday19 Feb 21 Pete Falls in Dry Creek

Friday 19 February 21

Dogs woke me up at 6:30. I let them out then made coffee. I went out to let the dogs in but couldn't find Pete. There was a dry creek close to where I parked with a bit of a drop off.  Sure enough Pete had fallen into the creek. I got him out of his predicament and got both him and Wiggin in the RT for their breakfast. I reconfigured the interior for travel which consists of putting my sleeping bag or blanket away and relocating the pillows to the back of the bed. With that done it becomes officially a couch. Depending on the anticipated last night's temperature I might have to relocate some throws from the carpet in the sleeping area to the driving area.

I got back on the road around 7:30 headed towards Kingman Arizona. Once in Kingman I drove to Rutherford's Family Diner for breakfast. My breakfast consisted of 2 eggs, hash browns and biscuits and gravy. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the biscuits and hash browns were the best I've ever eaten. I have had better coffee however.

After breakfast I drove to the one Walmart in the town of Kingman Arizona. It was a very large Walmart and super busy. The day's project was to locate a power receptacle near the twin bed on the right side. When I travel alone I have the RT configured with a desk on the left side where the twin bed would otherwise be and I sleep on the right twin bed. I need a power receptacle there so I can locate the third portable fan there when it gets hot. I want to use the receptacle to charge my cell phone as well. While in the Walmart I bought the items I would need for today's project.

Back at the RV I loosened the wall panel above the right twin bed and removed the fluorescent light located between the two beds so I could use  that power source of the light fixture to power the new receptacle. Once I removed the wall panel I discovered that there was already both a positive and negative wire that I could use for the receptacle power source. I had to make a trip back into Walmart to find some splice fittings to tie into the positive and negative wires. The wires on the receptacle were just long enough to reach the two wires.

Before I even finished the project Wiggin claimed that with the new air flow it would be his favorite spot.

Before completing the project I took a break and made some rice with canned fish for dinner. I had some Clam Chowder on the side.

After the sun went down I went into Walmart to use the restroom. I decided to park for the night in the Walmart parking lot. There were several other RV in the lot.
